Remembering My Blessings!
I don't know about you...but I'm tired of winter! Not only am I tired of winter, but I'm tired of complaining about just how awful it's been! Driving to church in our latest 4 inches of wet slushy snow today...was an adventure! I'm so sick of winter that I just had to Spring up my Xanga page!!
Not only that, I sat and reminded myself of the fun times my hubby and I had the last several months! So below is a little photo montage of the good times of the last 4-5 months! Enjoy!!
September - Thank God we got our neighbor's tree cut down prior to...
THIS!!! (in Dec!)
October - My step-sista's Pam's wedding. Afterwards, Curt & I took out the Big kids for ice cream & a movie!
November - An Early Arrival...
Silas decided he wanted to be a November baby instead of December!
We spent Thanksgiving in Manhattan...Kansas! Had a lovely dinner with Curt's brother's family and parents. But I forgot my camera! Shoot!
December - A trip to Tulsa for an early Christmas with family! While we were there we went to Pryor, OK to see my Dad's brother and family, my Uncle Howard! This included a game the guys made up on the spot...we like to call it Redneck Soccer. Uncle Howard was the goalie and his post was on the roof of his house. Then my brother, Andy, and Curt proceeded to try to kick the ball totally over the house...a near impossible task I might add!!
In the country you make up your own games!
Then there's always a cruise around the country with Uncle Howard to see the sites! Here's Jacob enjoying the breeze!
Back at Howard & Janet's house...sitting around the bar solving the world's problems...
Kleeman Kouzins...The Next Gen
An Early Christmas with the family at Christmas...everybody was cuddling!
And then my cousin Bill & Cindy's girl, Bailey's 2nd Birthday Party!
Christmas - At Word of Life for Christmas Eve & then family time at Dick & JoAnn's, Curt's Parents!
New Years - Included a little road trip to Dallas with The Queen and her husband, Tom West, and my hubby and I to...The Cotton Bowl!
EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas...
The Parade...
And the best part...winning the game!! Go TIGERS!!!
So yeah, maybe January & February has been a little frigid of late...but there was fun prior to that and will be some exciting times coming up...
SUCH AS.....
My 9th REAL birthday! For the first time in my lifetime it's on a Friday--for those not good at math...my first Friday b-day in 37 years (I was born on a Tues!). I will probably have a real fun day at work on that day and then follow it up with Friday night church.
The following weekend is...Birthday Weekend! A family tradition that has gone on for many years as two of my step-sista's and I have our birthday all in one week. This year, will be minus one sista (she'll be in Colorado skiing!) but we'll be up one brother, who usually doesn't come! Cool!
Then in April is Curt & I's 2nd Anniversary!!
So you see...there are good things to look forward too! My birthday will be here before you blink and then we'll be one step closer to green grass, flowers and rain! Before you know it we'll be complaining about how hot it is!! (Oh for that day!!)
So rethink your negativity to this winter drudge and count your blessings folks! It'll put a smile on your face before you know it!

Karen
Loved all the pics! Thanks for walking us down memory lane. And the springy backround is lovely as well.
Bless you!
I loved the pics !! Thanks for sharing! I look forward to family times again, too. Seeing the faces, the homes and just homey feel to them, makes me feel closer to that day I can resettle into a house in a more permanent way, and make it look homey, too, filled with friends and family coming and going. We 'may' have found a house! We'll know in a couple days if they accept our offer or if there is another offer that came before us.
What great photos! I'm thrilled for your real birthday to be coming up... you want another jello poke cake??? !!!
Happy Birthday (a wee bit early)!
Happy early Birthday Libby. Love the new background.
@bradfowler - A Cards fan and Mizzou fan and a NASCAR fan! Needless to say, there is always some sort of sports on at our house!!
You got it.... I'll bring it to the Porch on Friday night!
RYC: I don't know when they will fly us out, Friday or Saturday.... if they do fly us on Friday I'll leave the cake in the porch as planned.... Not a problem! This is a monumental birthday, it should be celebrated with poke cake!
What fun photos! You have been a busy girl.
Thanks for the Valetines candy via the internet.
Yes, many peole gave me chocolate for the holiday. Rod didnt. Instead he gave me the flu! What a nice guy
I did get your note abou tthe photos. What is easiest for you? A cd would be good becasue Im not even sure what the other things were that you suggested. giggle, giggle That is how computer savy I am! I do know waaht to do with cd though. I just braved the internet and whent online to order photos rather thn go to the store to download my pics. I felt like a real hot shot when the photos came back and there were really what I ordered! Amazing. As a matter of fact, I just got an idea. You can just download them to Walgreens and I can pick them up myself. They are the only one I am aware of that lets you pay for the photos wene you pick them up rather that when yuo order them. That way I wil ljust pay for them at the store.
Let me know if that works for you.
Thanks so much I am really looking forward to seeing them!
Have a good day.
RYC: yes indeed the media is obviously downplaying a lot of very scary changes in our society, on purpose, I think. I find it hard to fathom that we have been at War now since 2001, and we are just about bowing to the enemy! Would that have happened in WWII? Of course not! My grandparents were German, but Americans, living in Wisconsin. They didn't speak German except at home sometimes, because they wanted to be American and during the War, they wanted people to know they were AMERICANS, not Germans! Yet, here we go, constructing those awful muslim prayer towers right here in the USA.
Another random WWII thought...there was a German POW camp near my husband's family's farm in KS. The guards would come over with the Germans to be hired hands for a day. The guards went to sleep, the German prisoners worked, Bob's grandma fed them all, and after the War, they just opened the doors and the prisoners slipped out and into America--they wanted to stay HERE.
Also, as much as I think Barack Obama is definitely an antiChrist, he isn't Muslim. That's an email rumor thing...his dad was, yes, but he belongs to the most horrid racist Christian church in Illinois. Now, isn't it interesting that the church HE belongs to in IL, being totally racist in it's website and pastor's teachings, gets a pass from the media---but when it came to Mitt Romney, HIS faith & church were front page panic-news. I have a lot of LDS friends...believe me, they are not scary at all. But Barack Obama's church....his 'zombie-like' followers...the fainting when he speaks...the people simply following but not knowing why........it all looks like a scene from LEFT BEHIND to me.
RYC: Yes the collar is cruel, but I like to remember that it is for her own good. Thank goodness humans don't have to wear such things!
It's a little early, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! How exciting to FINALLY be turning 9 years old!
